Ozone Air Purifier - What Are The Effects of Ozone in the Home

Effects of Ozone in the Home

It is a colorless and odorless gas that can damage your lungs and irritate your throat, making it difficult to breathe properly. We hear about it the effects it has on us outside all the time, what about in your home? What am I talking about, Ozone. Yes, it is outside contributing to the pollution problem but it is in your home as well.

There are new reports that are explaining to us the negative effects that ozone exposure has on each and every one of us. Ozone is a naturally occurring gas that is found in our atmosphere, it is also a major player in the pollution levels that we are trying to combat in the world. The bad news is that ozone gas is not only outside, it is inside as well.

What does the ozone in your home really mean to your health? When we inhale small amounts of ozone, we will notice simple signs and symptoms that one may write off as just a simple cough. But really what is happening is the ozone; even the low amount in your home will bring about coughing, congestion, wheezing, shortness of breath and possibly chest pain in people that are perfectly healthy. If you already suffer from a lung ailment such as asthma or bronchitis or emphysema then your symptoms worsen.

What did I just tell you, simple symptoms that you will write off as nothing… coughing, congestion, shortness of breath… hmmm… you thought you were healthy… and now there is that cough out of no where that you seem to have at home, or you are waking up congested and now have to take a decongestant in order to breathe in your own home. Ozone levels in your home are causing these symptoms, and now costing you more money and headache with doctor visits and medications.

Now that you are thinking about the way you feel and the air you are breathing at home, what contributes to the ozone levels in your home? I hope you are prepared to hear this… you are sitting by your computer… that little box thing next to you that does the printing… contributes to the ozone in your home. Yes, the printer. If you have a copy machine, it also does that. Do you use any good smelling air fresheners or sprays to clean your air… guess what, they add to the ozone level in your home.

Oh, wait, you already knew that and you went and bought an air purification system to help clean the air in your home. Did you read the book that came with your air purification system and do your homework and compare the different units available on the market? Take a good look at that home unit; it can also be contributing to your ozone levels.  There are many units on the market that still emit ozone gas.

Not all home purification units are created the same. You need to do your research and make sure that the unit your thinking of buying, or have already is not putting harmful gases in your air. Take the time, do your research. Try to get a unit that can clean the air in your entire home so that there isn’t a separate air purification unit in each room. Make sure that the unit you are looking at has a filter that utilizes PCO. These are ions that really do purify your air without emitting any harmful ozone gases. Take a look at the NANO O2 to start your comparison shopping to make sure you are getting the best for your family and for your money.
